Our Women’s Leadership Forum, organised as part of our Women’s Leadership Programme (WLP), will take place in Dar es Salaam on 16 October 2023, under the theme “Advancing gender equality in leadership for sustainable development in Tanzania”.
The event is organised as part of our Women’s Leadership Programme (WLP), dedicated to helping women advance into leadership roles. The WLP is implemented with support from the governments of Tanzania and Finland, the European Union, and UN Women. It runs over six months comprising a forum, a six-day intensive training, plus coaching and mentoring.
The guest of honour will be Hon. George Simbachawene (MP), Minister of State in the President’s Office–Public Service Management and Good Governance (PO–PSMGG). Participants will include 100 women leaders selected to join cohorts 3 and 4 of the WLP, government officials, development partners, as well as representatives from the private sector, academia and civil society.
This year’s forum seeks to provide a space to share experiences and insights to promoting women’s inclusion in leadership roles. It features the debut of Gender Mainstreaming Guidelines for the Civil Service, prepared by the PO-PSMGG with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and UN Women, and a panel discussion on the said theme.
